Green Tips for our Travelers
Whether in your home, or staying with MontrealStays.com, here are some household tips to help reduce your impact on the environment:
When Doing Laundry - Only do a load of washing when the machine is full. Use cold water. Fluff the laundry before tossing into the dryer. Use liquid fabric softener rather than a disposable dryer sheet.
To Save Energy - Get in the habit of turning off lights when you leave the room. Open the blinds and let the sun shine in. Nothing is more pleasing and efficient than natural light. Regulate the temperature naturally whenever possible.
To Save Water - Use the water saving settings on your dishwasher and washing machine. Don’t let the tap run unnecessarily. Take a shower rather than a bath.
Reduce the amount of disposable packaging by buying in bulk from co-ops and refilling containers. Avoid plastic bags. Reuse - keep everything that can be reused (eg paper, bottles, jars). Recycle everything that cannot be reused. Aim for zero rubbish, it can be done!
